KONOCTI TRAILS, CALIFORNIA | BRAND WEBSITE

When seeking a new outdoor adventure, many people turn to the go-to source: the web. To stay competitive with modern audiences, Lake County Trails decided to up its game: and that’s when they turned to us.

See, they didn’t just need a regular ol’ website – they needed a streamlined experience to help visitors find their next perfect adventure.

ABOUT

Length, scenery, difficulty level – these are just a few of the many factors visitors take into consideration when searching online for fun activities. With Lake County Trails’ incredible diversity of options, it became clear: an organizational system was necessary to help people find the exact experience they were looking for.

After all, the Konocti Regional Trails system in sunny California winds its way throughout the entirety of Lake County and the Clear Lake area, encompassing some of the region’s most scenic vistas, wildlife-filled habitats, historic sites and more.

Unifying the Lake County Trails Experience

If your site isn’t optimized for search engines, visually exciting, and deeply compelling, modern audiences may become disengaged and click away within just a few seconds. Built to be mobile-forward with built-in integration with All Trails, we were able to turn Lake County’s new site into a valuable resource for locals and tourists alike. Easily searchable and organized by tags, visitors can quickly find exactly what they’re looking for, whether that’s an easy kid-friendly hike or a challenging water trail.

ADA Compliance: Built with accessibility in mind, Lake County Trails’ new site includes an adaptable screen reader, keyboard navigation, alt tags and more.
Optimized for Mobile: Meeting visitors where they’re at, the new mobile-friendly site allows on-the-go navigation, making it easier than ever to get out and onto the trails.
Organization of Trails Systems: Starting with a newly-designed sitemap and structure, we organized the trails network with a comprehensive tagging system, including difficulty, type, activities and more.
MAINTENANCE + ADJUSTMENTS

Beyond eye-catching design and accessible features, a good site does one thing well: it adapts to its audience. The site’s built-in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) integration allows us to track how visitors navigate the site, what pages are most visited, visitor characteristics, location and more. Not only does this grant us insight into where these digital visitors are coming from, but it also shines a light on what content is best at keeping them there, whether that’s long-form blogs, videos or specific trail guides. This invaluable data will then shape the future, allowing Lake County Trails to make informed decisions about how to continue attracting visitors of all generations.
