You’ll work with the lead developer to manage build out for digital initiatives, including websites and emails for client and internal agency work. Day-to-day you’ll might be expected to:
• Deliver fully developed and responsive web pages based on provided mockup or reference designs, down to the details
• Setup and manage e-commerce site content
• Optimize website speeds and reduce load times
• Write organized well-structured code
• Debug SEO issues and errors
• Setup and build e-commerce and marketing integrations with third-party plugins
• Create reusable components that are built with highly customizable and easy to edit fields through specific CMS platforms (ex: Shopify, WordPress, HubSpot, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of WCAG 2.0 compliance standards
• Manage DNS Records
• Take on special projects as necessary
• Keeping up with fast-paced client needs and deadlines
• Developing a deeper understanding of client goals and providing design and functionality recommendations
• Understanding brand and digital compliance guidelines and executing within those guidelines
• Writing clean, efficient code, while adhering to web standards, best practices, and optimizing website performance
• Being self-motivated and resourceful, and proactive about learning new skills and technologies
• Managing your time, tasks, and priorities
• Building for the responsive web and all the quirks that come with it
• Adapting to new challenges, and finding multiple ways to solve problems
• Coding pixel-perfect websites across modern browsers and devices
• Writing scripts from scratch, and can easily explain how your code works to others
• Working in a team environment AND independently, and taking ownership of your work
• Communicating clearly and directly with all levels of personnel (in person, written, or over the phone), and you’re able to build strong and effective relationships quickly in a remote environment
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience working with HTML5, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript
• Ability to write HTML/CSS that exactly matches a design layout, and bring it to life in accordance with requirements
• Experience with mobile-first responsive web development
• Must have a public portfolio to showcase examples of your work
• Expertise or certification in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe XD, Photoshop and /or Illustrator
• Strong proficiency in digital design and HTML5 / CSS
• Comfort in working with PHP, JavaScript, and JQuery
• “Mobile first” design mentality
• Solid understanding of web and mobile standards, including responsive design and UX
• General Understanding of how sites interact with databases (MySQL)
• Understanding of cross-browser/device compatibility issues and solutions
• Ability to troubleshoot code effectively working with back-end developer for solutions to any bugs
• Experience with a CMS or e-commerce platform
• Ability to mentor other front-end developers from a technical perspective
• Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
• 1+ years of full-stack or front-end experience
• Experience building Shopify themes and customizing existing themes
• Experience collaborating closely with marketing and design teams
• E-commerce experience
• WordPress and Shopify experience
• Entrepreneurial minded
• Understanding of SEO fundamentals
