MULTI-PARTNER
REBRAND + WEBSITE

The Environmental Improvement Program (EIP) is a large, multi-partner initiative working to protect and restore the Lake Tahoe Basin. With 80+ partners and decades of visible progress, the program needed a public-facing experience that matched the scale of the work. BLKDOG partnered with the EIP on this public-sector, private-sector, and government website design and branding initiative, creating a clearer identity system and a new website that helps residents and stakeholders understand the program’s purpose, progress, and impact without getting lost in the details.

ABOUT

The EIP’s existing website supported transparency and accountability, but it was not built to tell the full story. The challenge was to complement the project tracker with a standalone public website that adds context, highlights outcomes, and makes technical work feel relevant to everyday audiences.

At the same time, the EIP needed shared messaging and brand standards that could hold up across dozens of partner organizations. The goal was consistency without losing momentum, and a refreshed brand that retained existing recognition while modernizing how the program shows up across channels.

DELIVERABLES
  • Brand Discovery + Research
  • Community Engagement + Public Input Surveys
  • Brand Strategy + Messaging Framework
  • Refreshed Identity Elements + Logo Variations
  • Communications Toolkit + Partner-Facing Protocols
  • Website Strategy, Design + Development

We strengthened the brand foundation first, refining positioning and outward-facing messaging that partners can use consistently. From there, we refreshed the identity system and produced guidelines designed for real-world rollout across presentations, signage, digital communications, and partner channels.

We also created a supplemental identity for the Lake Tahoe Summit to demonstrate how the refreshed system flexes for major public moments while staying cohesive with the broader program brand.

Then we built a completely new public-facing website experience. The site uses clear pathways, improved content structure, and copyediting for clarity and SEO. It integrates the existing project map and complements the tracker by creating space for story, outcomes, and partner context. The result is a platform that makes the EIP easier to navigate, understand, and support.

Story-led public websites complement technical dashboards by adding context, outcomes, and meaning.
Shared messaging and brand protocols reduce fragmentation across agencies and channels.
Nonprofit website design and branding helps multi-partner programs communicate with clarity and consistency.

The EIP now has a clearer public front door and a brand system that partners can utilize with confidence. Residents can quickly identify an EIP project and better understand why it matters, while stakeholders have a more coherent view of progress and long-term purpose. Together, the work strengthens consistency across communications and makes a complex regional initiative feel more visible and accessible.
